The 20th "Benrath Palace Music Festival" also marked an anniversary for us: our branch office in Düsseldorf has provided technical services for this Düsseldorf open air event right from the very beginning. Once again we were engaged to provide the sound and lighting as well as the infrastructure - the power supply as well as the planning and implementation of a comprehensive safety concept. We deployed redundant systems for both the power supply and signal routing (for lighting and sound). Furthermore, we installed one hundred path luminaires from our stock along the precisely specified emergency escape route totalling 1.5 kilometres in length. The high-quality design of the luminaires made them the perfect choice for a park atmosphere like that at the Romantic-period palace. One challenge we had to master was to amplify the 45-man classical orchestra so that the members of the audience enjoyed a perfect auditory experience from all of the seats around the Mirror Pond - an area measuring 800 metres in length and 80 metres in width. We illuminated the gardens, the palace and its interior with LED luminaires to create the perfect setting for the fountains with their colourful jets of water that danced in time to the music.
